CLR Connector Message from CLR’s President
Welcome to the March edition of the CLR CONNECTOR.
As all of us – the members, our union partners, and CLR staff, are continuing our journey through the bargaining year, at the main table and trade level tables, we are hopeful that you review the CLR communications as we strive to keep you up to date on the most recent development of the situation. Please, keep your eye on our regular editions, as well as special alerts from our staff.
At the beginning of the year, we were pleased to finally be able to announce the official report for the labour market study we have completed (“BUILDING RESILIENCE: A Made in BC Human Resources Strategy for the Unionized Construction Industry”). You can read more about this long-awaited product of mutual cooperation between multiple industry parties in the article “Labour Market Study: HR Strategy for the Unionized Construction Industry”. As an important follow-up on the completion of this critical research project, CLR is actively working on strategies identified in the report, including through our new committee – Future Leaders in Construction, and through discussion with our partners.
The CLR Membership Survey 2023 is ongoing. We thank all our members who have contributed their valuable feedback and would like to remind those who have not had a chance to participate yet, to please take a moment to fill in the questionnaire. It is important for us to hear your voice. You can find the details in the “CLR NEWS” section of this newsletter.
Last but not least – we encourage all our members to watch for further notifications for the Golf Tournament and the AGM and to register as early as possible. As usual, both events are highly anticipated and expected to fill up fast.
Please, enjoy your new CONNECTOR and let us know if you have any comments, suggestions, or ideas by sending your recommendations or requests to Maria at marias@clra-bc.com.
Stay safe and best regards,
Ken McCormack, CLR’s President and CEO
