Happy Construction Month from our team to yours! CLR is excited to celebrate the 9th annual Construction & Skilled Trades Month and is proud to support the British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA)’s #BuiltRight campaign as a 2026 sponsor.
#LunchBoxCelebration
Every April, CLR celebrates Construction Month by sponsoring lunch for a member company crew as part of the BCCA’s Lunchbox Celebration. This year the celebration headed to the PNE Amphitheatre site in Vancouver, where the team at Trotter and Morton was hard at work.
Rain and all, the crew took a break, grabbed their lunch, and marked the occasion in their Construction Month shirts.
When asked what advice they would give to youth entering the trades, here is what they shared:
“Be humble.”
“Accept that you will make mistakes and learn from them.”
“Willingness to learn goes a long way.”
“Remember that you are the new person learning from someone with experience.”
Simple advice, but the kind that sticks.

CLR welcomed Dr. Dave Baspaly and Grant McMillan from the Council of Construction Associations of BC (COCA) for a special briefing on key priorities for contractors, including WorkSafeBC developments. The recording is available to watch anytime.
Supporting the Next Generation – Open until May 31
The Builders of Tomorrow BC Foundation is accepting applications, and we want to make sure the right people know about it.
Established by CLR, the Foundation provides scholarships and bursaries to BC residents aged 17 to 30 who are pursuing careers in construction. Five awards of $1,500 are available, including the Darlene Sigurdson Bursary, which is specifically for individuals from underrepresented backgrounds entering the trades.
If you have apprentices or young workers on your crew who could use a financial boost, encourage them to apply. This is a straightforward opportunity to support the people coming up in your trade, and the deadline is May 31, 2026.
