On April 28, Canada’s National Day of Mourning, CLR joined labour, government, and industry partners to remember workers who have lost their lives or been impacted by workplace incidents.

In Victoria, CLR was on the steps of the BC Legislature alongside partners from across the province. We heard from families who carry their loss every day. Their presence was a reminder of why this day exists and who it is for, and why the work of making every BC workplace safer never stops.

CLR was also in Ottawa for the national ceremony, reflecting the fact that this commitment does not stop at BC’s borders. April 28 is now observed in more than 100 countries worldwide, a testament to a global movement built on a simple demand: that every worker makes it home safe.

We share in your sorrow. We remember together. And we recommit to ensuring that every worker in every corner of this province makes it home safe.
