On April 28, we honour the workers, who have been injured or lost their lives to workplace injury or disease in B.C.

In 2021, 161 B.C. workers died from a workplace injury or disease. There were 62 fatalities due to traumatic injury and 99 fatalities due to occupational disease.

Every year, on this day, workers, families, employers, and others come together at events held around the province to remember those who have lost their lives on the job, and to renew our commitment to creating safer workplaces.

Tomorrow, observe a moment of silence, make a dedication to those who have died or been injured at work, or visit Day of Mourning Ceremony at 10:30 am.
